As this collection was largely inspired by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a lot of the outerwear worn by the officers and young men alike were the original Jeep Coat (aka the M1938 Mackinaw Coats) which were these very practical double breasted shawl coats. The more we pored over the photos from the CCC, the more we got it in our heads that we should redo our Shawl Coat. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Shawl Collar Overcoat lived somewhere in our imagination between an officer's formal dress, the Jeep Coat, and a practical piece of warm, all-encompassing outerwear, and we developed the fabric around these coats to match.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Irish Stout Twill is a new take on our traditional Donegal tweeds. While it is still very much our same yarns and designs, the finishing is slightly different. It will feel much softer due to the brushing and washing stages it goes through, and thus also gives off a hairier appearance.
