Strangely enough, this sweater development started because of...pockets. The pockets were what drew us into the original vintage inspiration, a handmade sweater likely from the 1930s. But ultimately the sweater itself felt very American. It looked like a lot of the varsity sweaters and even flight jackets from those days, but construction was very straight-to-the-point. There wasn't a lot of transitions, it had a simple rib construction, and yet the pockets helped it feel very special.

We wanted this sweater to be easy. We wanted it to feel like something you could reach for every day, so it had to be hard wearing and it had to fit and not be too particular. So we once again returned to our Andean Highland Wool instead of our usual delicate Alpaca/Cotton zip cardigans. And if you look close enough, you'll notice we used the same colors in these as our Two-Tone Crewneck Sweaters (except the green, those didn't quite make the cut).

All in all, we expect these to be a favorite.
